Step 04 · FAQs

FAQs.

Only full-time employees working an average of 30+ hours and earning over $26,000 per year are eligible for this plan. Restrictions apply, and some employees may be ineligible based on their federal filing status and the number of dependents listed on their W-4.

Enrollment is automatic — there will be an opt-out form in the welcome emails if you wish to not participate.

The basics

01Will my net take-home pay change?

In most cases, your take-home pay stays the same. Sometimes it’s even higher — but it will never be lower with this plan.

02How does this get paid for?

This program has a cost (premium). An amount is deducted from your paycheck before taxes, and then you’ll see the same amount added back as a post-tax reimbursement. Because the deduction is pre-tax, your taxable income is reduced, and the tax savings are what cover the cost.

03Does this replace or interfere with any coverage I have? Do I need both?

This plan supplements your existing insurance to reduce out-of-pocket costs — it does not replace your existing medical insurance, and you still need both. The First Gen Supplemental Benefits Plan does not cover specialists, lab work, imaging (X-rays / MRIs), or hospital stays. It does cover preventive care, virtual urgent care, and most generic drugs at $0.

04What about my family members? Are they covered as well?

Yes — benefits extend to your household and dependents, up to 6 family members. The virtual urgent care visits are available for each person individually (for example, 8 for you, 8 for your spouse, and 8 for a child). Life insurance, long-term care, and in-person primary care apply only to the employee.

The benefits

05What’s included in the virtual health plan (First Gen Health)?

You’ll receive a membership card and a link to download an app called Doctegrity. With them, you can:

  • Up to 8 virtual urgent care visits per year at $0 co-pay
  • Up to 8 virtual primary care visits per year at $0 co-pay
  • Up to 8 virtual mental health visits per year at $0 co-pay
  • Access to 1,000+ generic prescriptions at $0 co-pay, with up to 8 home deliveries at no charge
  • Access to fitness, health, and longevity virtual coaching
06What about in-person care?

You’ll receive a membership card called ARK. With it, you can have unlimited in-person preventive primary care visits each year at a $0 co-pay. You’ll also have access to Hospital Bill Advocacy — submit your hospital bills to be itemized and an advocate will leverage federal, state, and local relief programs to minimize your bill.

07What’s included in the Whole Life Insurance policy?

Your Whole Life Insurance policy includes:

  • Death Benefit — the amount varies by demographic and ranges from $20,000 to $100,000, paid as a lump sum to your beneficiary or estate
  • Long-Term Care — if you face a long-term illness, you can use funds from your death benefit to help cover long-term care services
  • Cash Accumulation — your policy has a cash account that accumulates cash and accrues dividends / interest each month. You can pull this money out or borrow against it
